History and identity
The Skala housing estate belongs to the contemporary urban extension in the north of Essaouira. Its local name can lead to confusion with the fortified monuments of the medina, but its real estate history relates to a residential area developed outside the ramparts.
Everyday life
Aswak Assalam and several services make everyday purchases easier. Traveling to the center and the medina requires measuring the traffic and available transport. The wind, the sea air and the path to the beach also influence use.
Property in Skala
The market includes apartments, houses and residential lots in buildings of varying ages. Title, surface area, co-ownership, parking, humidity and condition of facades must be controlled. The proximity to the beach does not guarantee either a view or direct access.
The strengths of Skala
The proximity to shops, access to the north of the city and the relationship with the north beach constitute its main assets. Some streets offer a quiet residential environment; orientation, road conditions and actual distance to the shore must be checked.
What to check
Check the actual route to the North Beach, transportation, parking, title, condominium, wind exposure and facade maintenance.
